Okay a VR setup I would need for my job....face it, one reason
I'd want a VR/AR setup would be so I could work where I liked.
I'm a programmer, I need a computer to do the majority of my work
but during anytime the weather's good and the office is stuffy
I know where I'd want to be.
So..standard monitor replacement...either huge sunglasses, or
those tiny screens they have on the Japanese handheld prototype
or maybe (safe) laser-to-eye projection....sound we already have by
headphones..which are pretty miniature anyway...keyboard,
strapped to the front of my right thigh, probably have to give up my
beloved mouse for a hated tracker ball, or even worse, one of
those damn pads that you run your finger across (yeah, I know
lying in the sun would be worth this inconvenience).
More than that, what do you need...you can still drag pen and
paper around with you, or have a light pen for the tablet on your left
leg.
Now all I need is Sony to make a development board for the Playstation
that's less than a foot long and I'm sorted....
