Damien, dear, you are a friend and thank you for being sorry.  Having moved
beyond the issue,  I find all this quite good fodder for an essay. If there
are transhumans with especially strong olfactory senses to sniff out
molecules that I don't have the nose for, then this is actually good
because it provides material that I would not otherwise have had.

Just as I find it a nuisance with posts that belittle the importance of
aesthetics, some folks are annoyed with too many strong postings on
libertarian ideas.  Both create an imbalance.

I think that in all fairness, I didn't put enough emphasis on the real
concerns of those who are annoyed by postings on the extropian list that
ticked the 1/2 dozen or so off.  I claim this as shortsightedness on my
behalf.  The good news, as I stated above, is that the concerns and
comments (even those that I didn't particularly like) are good fodder for
writing.  Such concerns are a red flag and paying attention to such an
indication can only be beneficial to me in the long run.

I think that the most direct and capable posting was from Alex on this
matter.
